One of the most frustrating things about working farther away from home is that it doesn't leave much time to play and create! Even though it's something that I love I find that I have less and less time to enjoy it.

Today is my husband's birthday; I had to hurry home, cook a special dinner, prepare a package for shipment and still have time to do a few other things...the time just isn't there. It will come as I plan my days better.

Praying that you are blessed...that you feel God's presence in this hectic life and that as you reach for the stars you remember the moon is within your grasp!

Oh My Goodness!!

Has it been this long!? HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Did you have a wonderful time? Did you watch a little football, eat yummy food, and squeeze the one's you love? I hope you did!!

The grandkids came over for a week during Christmas! What an awesome time we had! So much giggling and cuddling.

Below is a picture that I sent to my Sister for Christmas...She said she loved it and I sure hope she did :) Try to ignore the ceiling fan...and the poor photography...

I'll write more soon...thanks for hanging in there with me! For those of you who were following along and wondering...Allie Cat passed away just before Christmas...She's sitting pretty in "someone's" lap; loved and content.

Wow, I must be busy or something....

I haven't posted anything for a while and I apologize! It's been crazy busy and my work has taken me away from home for longer periods of time. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this Christmas season.

I've been trying to do too many things at once and sometimes it builds. On top of that, my 19 1/2 year old kitty is dying. She's such a sweet old gal and I love her. I'll miss her when she's gone.

Here she is just a year or so ago. She's looking a bit older here, but you can see in her prime she was a beautiful old kitty.

Votives Holders with Apple/Peach Votives Yum!

There is nothing like the scent of a wonderful candle. Especially those that evoke wonderful memories of days gone by. I decorated these little votive holders and added the yummy scented apple peach votives to them for my Etsy Shop. I popped them up this evening and they are adorable.

I think they make perfect gifts for neighbors, bus drivers, postmen and women, anyone who enjoys a smile and a friendly reminder that they are special, needed, and appreciated.

Winter is Upon Us

Burrrrrr! It's getting cold outside. When we moved to Georgia from Washington State we couldn't believe how much sunshine there was. Everyday, we would wake up to warm, bright sunshine. For those of you who are used to this...congratulations, for us who grew up in the Pacific Northwest, it was a phenomenon.

Then winter came...let me tell you the first Canadian front met us with quite a surprise. We had been out the weekend before planting, yes planting...sleeveless shirts, shorts, laughter...then SHOCK! It blew in out of nowhere...colder than I've ever felt it...wind whipping, frost biting, unbelievable...we laughed and laughed...couldn't believe our new home could be so cold!

This is the back patio during one of our first snows! Beautiful, fun to watch and oh so cold!

Time is Just Slipping By

It's hard to believe, but we are already at the 4th of December! Is that incredible or what? It's a crazy time and often we forget the real meaning of Christmas and the blessings it holds for us. I'm proud to say that I'm a Christian and this time of year brings to rememberance the gift of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I remember Him all year long, because He is with me everyday, every step of my journey here, but Christmas expounds on His coming and the gift He brings.

May we always remember the Christmas Blessing and all there is in it!

Mom and My Memories

My Mom spent Thanksgiving at the ocean with my brother and my cousins from New York. Here she is with my cousin Mike. I loved the picture of them...it's so like my Mom to be loving, happy, and free with her heart. I need a hug.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving! As I've grown a little older I've come to really appreciate Thanksgiving and all that it brings to the table. ;) Figuratively, and relatively...I love sitting around the table enjoying a meal with family. I love the laughter that fills the room and the clinking of silverware against the plates as the finish the dessert.

I love hearing everyone cheer on their team and grumble when things don't turn out quite right. It's my precursor to Christmas with the people I love and cherish. It's my time to remember all the Lord has given to me including and most importantly His Son Jesus, who died for my sins, and according to scripture, the sins of all who would love Him (John 3:16) and believe in Him.

I have much to be thankful for and on a day like to today I want to take this time to say how thankful I am to have you in my life. I'm thankful for you and for your encouragement. I'm thankful for your kind comments and love.

God bless you and keep you with joy, peace, and love. May you have the best Thanksgiving ever!

Nehemiah 9:6 You Made the Heavens

Good day everyone,
I'm getting ready to post another creation in my Sweet Home Designs Etsy Shop. I put together this print, in a shadow box format, and shared a wonderful verse within it.

I hope you like what you see and will stop by the shop. We'll call it "Spread Your Wings". The shadow box is purchased at a local craft store and I embellished it a bit to tie it into the photo.

The verse within the photo is Nehemiah 9:6

"Youmade the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, theearth

and allthat is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything,

and themultitudes of heaven worship you." (Nehemiah 9:6)

The picture was one I had from days gone by and thought to cute to get rid of. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts along with a kit from Scrap That!

3rd Birthday for My Oldest Grand Child

It's hard to believe that 3 years have gone by since Kiani came into the world. It seems like only yesterday that we were anxiously awaiting her arrival. Wondering what she would look like, if she'd be healthy.

I was taking my daughter for a routine check up. We expected to be home that afternoon, having tea, laughing, and waiting. At the appointment, everything rapidly changed. Shann's blood pressure had shot up and they decided they'd take the baby early; as in that day! We headed to the hospital, calling Daddy on the way. Kiani was going to be 5 weeks early and Gramm was a bit concerned.

But as you can see everything worked out just fine:

When I think of my grand children I can't help but thank God from whom all blessings have come. They are truly my heart and joy. I love them unconditionally.

I'm so excited...in one week my daughter and grand daughters are coming for a visit! One full week! We have a few things planned...one of which will be pictures of all 3 grand daughters! What fun!

We'll also be doing a little shopping, sharing a birthday for my oldest Kiani (3 years on the 15th), and just plain girl talk and love with my daughter. I have missed those chats, giggles, songs, and just plain silliness. I don't know what I would do without her!

My daughter and her first child laying on the floor together watching a children's show. It didn't last long as Kiani was very little, but it was a joy to see them, like this, together.

I know they will always be there for each other. As she will for all the children she is blessed with. My son as well...I am blessed.

It's Really October 22nd! Where Did This Month Go?

I can hardly believe that the month has flown by so quickly. I know this is as it should be, but it still shocks me when I turn around and it's 3/4's of the way through the month! I've found as I've gotten older the time really moves away from me!

With that said...Fall is upon us and we are beginning to look at a new season of sweet smells, warm fires, soups, and cuddling with our Honey's! What fun...and the trees are really turning into colorful arrays of artistic wonder. I love this time of year.

I've decided to decorate some votive holders and add my gourmet, soy votives to them. I'll list them in my Etsy shop for around 4.00 or so. They'll make wonderful gifts for teachers and friends during the holiday season.

My Kiani and her New Scarf

This is Kiani...My oldest granddaughter. She will be 3 this November. It's hard to believe that almost 3 years ago I became a Gramm for the first time. My life has never been the same and I couldn't possibly feel more love than I do for my 3 granddaughters. They are the joy of my heart.

Kiani is wearing a new scarf her Momma made for her. She's striking a pose so everyone can see how lovely it is. I'm so very proud of my Daughter for trying new things and creating. She's amazing and I'm once again blessed.

Oh and her Sissy, Malia, got one too! Am I blessed or what?? Just want to hug them and hug them!

I created a collage to highlight my latest project. My husband has built an oak frame for her and I think we may white wash it lightly. We haven't decided yet.
I need your help. Can you tell me whether you prefer the word "Blessed" to the left of the picture over the lace; as shown in the upper middle photo? I can't decide. My husband says no and I say "hmmm".

Do You Ever Lose Followers?

I do. At first, because of who I am, I thought "What did I do?" It's funny when you think about it. Most of us don't "do" anything when we lose a "Follower". It just time for them to move on. Through attrition we will see "Followers" come and go. It's perfectly normal and we shouldn't let it depress, upset, or otherwise change our day.

Would I love to have more "Followers"? Of course! We all would. That's why we post, create, write, and blog. We want to make friends, network, laugh, and support those that blog with us.

Shadow Box Creation

I've made a shadow box. Well, the shadow box was purchased and I added to it. I used my Lili of the Valley stamp, colored in shades of purple. The papers are from my Scrap That kit, which includes some of the flowers.

I didn't like the stark white of the shadow box so I added some coordinating paper to the frame. I think it turned out pretty well.

My husband said we should hang it, but I'm thinking I'll add it to my Etsy shop. Still thinking about the price.

I'm also trying to decide on a charity. I would like a portion of my proceeds to go toward a worthy cause. I may not make much, but what I do make should do some good somewhere. Right?

Equal Time for Seneca Jo

Well, as promised (to Seneca Jo)...Here is her "equal" time. I received Seneca as a birthday gift from my daughter. She was so tiny and packed full of energy and love. When we brought her home she would fall asleep on my husbands shoulder.

She's always been a little front end heavy....I can remember setting her food down for her and her back end would raise off the floor (literally) as she ate. She did grow out of that, but food is, and always will be her FAVORITE thing in life.

She is every bit a toddler...she wakes us up as the sun rises. She's sure if we don't get up she'll starve to death. She's always getting into things; hiding behind her food in the pantry so we'll close her in. Anything for an extra nibble. LOL!!

We love her and Blue dearly. They are so different and so special! Thank you for letting us share them with you! :)

This is Blue...

Blue is one of our Min-Pin's. He was a rescue pup that I found online. I fell in love right away. They brought him out to the house and his teeth were bad, he had scars from being beat up in a tussle with other foster pups, and he was scared. Blue was so scared that when we went to bed; he started wheezing...I thought he was sick, but as I look back I think it was an anxiety attack.

Blue, along with Seneca (our other Pin)...are two of my best friends. I don't know what life would be like without them. Yes, they can be wearing at times, but most of the time they are just sweet.

Blue is my constant companion. Here he is sleeping in the chair next to me while I work on the computer. This is his usual place when I'm in the office/craft room.

The blanket is one I had when my son was a baby...32 years ago. Blue is taking full advantage of it now. He is without a doubt the sweetest pup.

My Friend in the Garden of Life

I found this beautiful stamp and it made me think of friends sharing secrets in a garden. I thought of the many times my Sister and I shared and laughed together. I remembered the times my Mom and I would sit in the garden, drinking coffee, and sharing life's tales. I couldn't help but make a card to remember those times.

I'm sure you may have special friends that you call at a moments notice when something special, or concerning is happening. They are always there for us. We love and appreciate them more than they can imagine. This card is for them.

LOTV Challenge ~ Missing You

I haven't entered a Challenge for a while so I thought I would toss my hat into the LOTV Challenge called Missing You.

I wanted to make use of a couple of new tools I purchased with a gift certificate from I Brake for Stamps. They are used for distressing and giving that worn, vintage feel. I used Tim Holtz's Distress Ink "Antique Linen" as well as, an ink color I've had from Stampin' Up. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts (purchased at I Brake for Stamps), and the stylus and pads by Color Tool Box were also purchased there.

Here's the outcome:

I hand painted the toll work around the paper edges and used a Sizzix flourish at the lower corner. The papers are a blend with the background coming from the Bo Bunny Timepiece collection.

Fairy in Red

You've heard of the Lady in Red? Well, this is the Fairy in Red...She's much more modest and sweet and the newest item available in my Etsy Shop. I'm learning to work with the deeper colors...it can be a challenge as they are not so easily manipulated, but I feel she turned out pretty well.

I used ProMarkers to color her and Wild Orchid flowers as embellishments. I found some adorable charms at a local craft store...papers were part of my Scrap That kit and some that I had on hand.

3 Day Weekend! Woot! Woot!

According to Wikipedia:

The first big Labor Day in the United States was observed on September 5, 1882, by the Central Labor Union of New York. It became a federal holiday in 1894, when, following the deaths of a number of workers at the hands of the U.S. military and U.S. Marshals during the Pullman Strike, President Grover Cleveland reconciled with the labor movement.

Wow, now that is something I either didn't know or didn't remember...it was a bit before my time. With that said, I didn't realize that people lost their lives prior to the first Labor Day. It's a bit sobering.

We don't have any big plans...I'm going to work on a few projects and try to get some better ideas and photos for the shop. Here's one I'm just about finished with:

You might wonder why I do so many of the same stamp...in part, my stamp collection is growing slowly, but I also colored several stamps ahead to give life to each "gal" in a fresh way. I also tried to use different variations in color to compliment differing environments.

Remember My Etsy Shop?

I went out on a limb and asked for some advice and constructive criticism. That's always a little difficult for me, but you need to do it in order to improve right? Success doesn't happen working alone; it takes many hands to work the dough and create the victory.

Well, I had quite a lot of feedback from the community there, much of it was very encouraging and I'm thankful for their kindness. One of the things they mentioned was that sets don't sell well. I cut my audience way down if I sell my cards and birdhouses as sets. So I decided to break them up and try it a little differently.

I'm willing to make an effort! So it's changed a bit, but I think it will be for the better in the long run.

Well, I Have Something to Share

Those of you who have visited this blog will remember the last layout I had. It was pretty, fresh, and new and I liked it. With that said, I saw another pretty, fresh, new blog layout that I thought I would try out.

Here's the results...I chose this because I love birds and the vintage, shabby chic, feel. This is what I want you to know:

If you change your TEMPLATE from the new blogger SIMPLE to the old blogger MINIMA...BEWARE...you may not be able to change it back to SIMPLE. I've been trying all morning to get the two columns back. I've been adjusting for hours.

It turned out fine, but now I feel a bit trapped...WAH!

Anyway...I hope you still visit and I don't confuse you too much by all the changes. It's still me!

Today is My Birthday...and I Wanted to Say Thank You!

Well, today was my birthday and it's time for me to "hit the sack", but I needed, wanted to say thank you to all my friends and family that took a moment to wish me a Happy Birthday. From the first song of the day to the last laugh with my Brother...I am, was, blessed.

Thank you Lord. Thank you for those people in my life that make me smile, laugh, and cry tears of joy. Thank you for those tiny voices that strained to sing the Birthday Song to their "Gramm". Thank you to those who remembered at the beginning of their day and wished me well.

Thank you Lord! Thank you that I have lived another year, breathing the air, hearing the birds, and seeing the sky. Thank you that in all the sorrows of my life and in this world, You saw fit to bring me through them and share Your love.

Thank you everyone for bearing with me...and being my friends, both online, and off.

Changed a Few Things...

Hey everyone!

I changed a few things around here...decided to update the blog with a fresh new look. I have so much fun with this. I hope you liked the way it turned out.

I've been working on another easel card...I've decided to offer the cards, envelobox to match, and an adorable birdhouse set on Etsy. I haven't added it yet, but it will be coming soon.

I thought I would give my followers and friends a sneak peak. Feel free to let me know what you think.

Of course there will be a decorated envelobox too! I've always loved birds and birdhouses. They make me smile and believe that all will be well! God is in control even when the world seems out of control.

Split Coast Stampers Tutorial

I found a tutorial on Embossed Embossing! My curiosity got the best of me and I thought I better click the link. :)

Well, this is an interesting technique fully worked out in detail with video at this location. Split Coast Stampers does an excellent job at laying out their tutorials. They start with your "materials" list and move on from there. What a pretty double embossed design this is!

It's Time for the Update on the Envelobox Creator

Okay, well I promised you an update and here it is. I was concerned when I made my purchase that this might not work well without it's "Mother" ship, The Crafter's Companion. In the case of making an envelobox, it does not need it's "Mama".

The envelobox I made is very plain, as I just wanted you to see what it looked like. I'll be working on it a bit, adding embellishments and, in the future, stamping prior to gluing. It's really important to watch when gluing the box together. It's incredibly easy to be off a little bit and cause the envelobox to be a little "catty-whompus". My first has a touch of that and I'm sure I'll be more proficient as time goes by.

Here's what the first one looks like, very plain...just a "try me" project:

The nice thing about this set up is that you can make any size or width you need for your envelobox...so if your card is a bit larger or smaller than the norm, just make a "box" to fit. My Ultimate Crafter's Companion set also came with a great DVD and instruction books.

All and all, I'm pleased with the purchase and would recommend it.

Well, I told you I was going to try one and I thought I better show you how it turned out. The stamp is a familiar Lili of the Valley stamp that I've used before. I wish I could get a "bunch" more, but for now this is what I have, thank you for bearing with me.

Mom Made It Safely!

Well, Mom got home safely and in Business Class!! They booted her forward and she road in style. Mom has this way about her that is so gentle and kind. She often gets hugs from strangers and kindness is showered upon her. It's so funny to watch how people treat her; mind you she doesn't want special treatment and I think that may be why she gets it.

Here's one of the first scrapbook pages I ever did. It's of my Mom after one of her visits with me. She stayed over for my birthday; hence the lei! This was a couple of years ago.

I spoke to her and she was so thrilled that everything went well. She misses us and we miss her. When she comes to visit, she just fits right in like shes always been here. That makes me feel so good! That's exactly how I want her to feel and be. At her home away from home.

We Take Mom to the Airport Today

Today marks the day I take Mom to the airport to head for home. Last night I cried and tonight I'll cry again. I've been blessed to have the most wonderful Mom. God has given her to us for 82 years and she has found the courage and the strength to fly across the country to visit me in Georgia.

For those of you who don't know Mom lives in Washington State. My siblings and family live there as well. I have a wonderful family. We went through much in life that created a never~ending bond. For that I am thankful.

I love you Mom! Thank you for loving me when I was not lovely * For holding me when I needed a hug * For sooooo many, too many wonderful memories to mention! I'll miss you! I miss you already.

ULTIMATE CRAFTER'S COMPANION DELUXE ADD ON BUNDLE

Hi everyone! Good morning!! I haven't had my first cup of coffee yet, but I thought I would post anyway! Look out!!!

I just received this purchase yesterday so I haven't had a chance to try it out. I'm excited at the possibilities.

Here's the thing I didn't understand, but do now. The item below is a companion to the Ultimate Crafter's Companion. Now, it can be used stand alone, but after I received it I can see that it would be better with it's "buddy".

At any rate, I'll be using it to create the boxelopes for my cards.

Here's a shot at what I received:

I'm anxious to view the video and try it out. I think that there might be a problem to hold the cardstock in place while scoring, but we'll see.

When I've created the first one I'll share it with you and you can decide whether it was worth the trouble.

Hello everyone! Thank you for stopping by. I decided to create a card for the WOC Shabby Chic Friendship Challenge. I found this adorable stamp and decided to color her with my Pro Markers. I used a technique I found on blending colors.

The caption on the stamp says, "In haste I bring my heart to you. Believe me it is staunch and true." I loved the vintage feel to the picture and the "Old English" verbiage.

LOTV Challenge 101 Bring on the Music

Growing up I played the flute. Just like so many other children, I played it from sixth grade all the way through High School. My childhood was difficult and we didn't have much money, but Mom working alone and raising 5 kids, decided that she wanted me to have that opportunity.

She leased the instrument at $19.00 a month. By the time it was said and done we probably paid for it 3 times over. I was never fantastic, but I enjoyed my time with the band and the friendships that I made.

Thanks Mom, you always seemed to come through for us; even in the most difficult of situations.

I made this little card early on. I just loved the little bear and the lovely greens and peaches. Did I mention, I'm so excited to be back!

Good News! Woohoo!!

I just talked with the gentleman that is working on my desktop and it should be back in a couple of days!! This is great news!

Although I am thankful to have my laptop to take care of the necessities of "online" life, it is very old, very slow, and has a tendency to freeze up. Big bummer!!

To my Entrecard Followers, I should be dropping again soon! It's just not possible with the laptop. To many gadgets and extras on "today's" blog for this old dinosaur.

I've been dying to post some of my projects, but it's just such a hassle! I can't wait to get the desktop back.

Did I mention I went to a wedding last weekend? It was beautiful. My daughter and son-in-law were participants in the wedding party. It was done in lavenders and butterflies. I watched the grandbabies while they worked their magic.

It was so much fun! We had a barbecue after the reception. Fun times and fun people. Blessings to the new couple, may you have years and years of happiness!!

My Mother's Day Card for Mom

I thought I would share the card I made for Mom this year. There's a little story behind this card.
When I was just a little girl, no more than 2. I had a favorite bear that I named "Teddy". I loved Teddy very much and would take him everywhere I went. My Mom told me that I would talk to Teddy just like he was a real baby.

WOC Challenge 23 Mums are Special

One Easter morning, my Dad wanted to take a picture of all of us kids. There were five of us, 3 boys, 2 girls; I was the youngest. He wanted me to put Teddy down so that the picture would be simply of us children.

I didn't want to put Teddy down. Not at all! Mom saw my dismay and decided to snap a picture of me turning to Teddy, with my face all contorted in sorrow, saying, "Don't worry Teddy...I won't put you down."

Anyway...it was a sweet reminder of my childhood and I added this feature in the card. I also added a tag on the "boxelope" reflecting the moment.

WOC Challenge 23 Mums are Special

She loved the card and ran back to her room to get the picture to show everyone that had come to visit on her special day. It gave me such joy to make her happy. I miss her terribly.

This country is awful big when your Mom is on the other side....

I don't know what happened to the dad-gum thing, but I'm thankful to have this old laptop so that I can at least let you know what's going on.

Okay...So I Didn't Do the Box...

...I did an envelope...Commonly known in the Scrapping World as a "boxelope". Cute name, huh? Well, I created my template using the template from this site. Extremely helpful and well laid out. It took a little be of time and I'll probably recreate the template, as the second one is always better than the first for me.

When I sent my Mom her Easter Card, my Sister was with her when she opened it. Mom loved it, and my Sister sent me a text saying, "Where's mine"? How sweet is that? So, of course, I made one for her. I hope it will fit into a few challenges, but we'll see.

Anyway, Here's the card and "boxelope" to go with it.

The stamp is a Sarah Kay creation; purchased through 7 Kids College Fund. Extremely nice company to deal with...I'll definitely do business there again...Of course, the florals are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I hope my Sis likes her card...I did add a verse, and lightly embellish the inside...

Need a Box for a Bulky 6 x 6 Card? I Hear Ya!

I've been creating cards lately, as you know, and ran into a little situation...I couldn't find an envelope, box, or envelope box to put them in. I couldn't just run to the store and get one...

My Easter card to my Mom was completed and I couldn't figure out how to send it and I hadn't had time to create a box...I just had to do the best I could...She loved the card and said she would frame it...what a Mom...she's always been that way...so encouraging (I love you Mom)....anyway I digress...

So I found this beautiful site; where you can create boxes for your projects...I'll get on it this weekend and see what I can come up with...here's an example of one by Maddy Hill.

This one was fun! Well, they all are! This is called White Plus 2 with a Twist...I chose White, Blues, and Greens...I used the Fairies on Tiptoe Stamp from LOTV and colored her with Promarkers...the florals are from Wild Orchid Crafts (WOC). The lace is from WOC as well!

We were asked to "feature" WOC roses within the card...

With this one I ordered the stamp (you've seen it already) from LOTV...the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, as well as, the lace. The little pearls are from the Martha Stewart collection...the swirly pearls that created the stem are from ZVA Creative...it's a little bit of everyone! I colored my lil guy with Promarkers that I purchased through Carpe Diem.

It's Time Again for the LOTV Challenge ~ Happy Birthday

I've decided to give it another whirl!! What fun...these stamps are so adorable and frankly, it's fun to create something of your own. I recently received 3 new stamps from LOTV...so I think you may be seeing a few creations.

I want you to know that this is something very new for me. I'm learning through seeing the creations of others...looking at tutorials...and practicing...I get a little frustrated...go back to the tutorials and try again! If you love scrapping and cardmaking you really need to try this. I think you'll really enjoy it.

I've Been Working on a Couple of Projects

I've been working on a couple of projects. One is a sprapbook layout of my oldest Grand Daughter. She's all of 2 and 1/2 years old and a true joy to my heart. She is a free-spirit...you can see that already...full of life, love, and smiles.

I've set the layout, changed it, set it...finally I'll get to the point where I'll be satisfied...it's just taking a while.

Here's where I am with it right now...

I've decided to call it Kiani's Dream. It's chocked full of fairies, flowers, and "Once Upon a Time" images. My prayer is that her dreams will be full of love, joy, and life.

You Have to Start Somewhere...

Okay, I purchased some ProMarkers from Carpe Diem. I wanted to see if I could "actually" stamp, color, and create a card. I've never considered myself artistic or even "crafty" but, as you will see...I'm learning in steps and stages.

The one thing I do know is that you have to try! You need to spend a little time accepting your failures, learning from them, and moving forward. For a very long time, I would try something and quit if it didn't turn out "perfect". That sounds silly doesn't it? Where I would give others the encouragement to keep trying; I would NOT allow myself the same courtesy. I decided to give myself that chance.

It's a life lesson really...Below is the first card I decided to enter in an LOTV Challenge. I may not get a second glance, but it's okay, because I'm learning...I'm slowly improving...and best of all I'm having fun doing it!

The moral of the story? Give yourself a chance, if you haven't already. Have fun...try something new...fail, and keep moving forward...keep trying!

Boy, I have!! Oh, mine turn out okay, but they definitely need some work. Well, I hopped over to Wild Orchid Crafts scrolled down the page until I found this little badge that said "All the Things I Love". I clicked on the badge and it took me to this darling blog, hosted by this very talented lady named, Bev Rochester!

Oh Boy!! Look What I found!

Okay, I know you're probably wondering what I do all day...Well, I work outside the home, but when I get home...I take care of the pups, my hubby, and get started with my new hobby...Scrapbooking! This is my newest creation. It's a picture of my beautiful Mom and her great-grandson...he's 3 now, and loves her as much now as he did then. So sweet!

Do You Love Tutorials??

I love tutorials...especially good ones. I've spent a good part of my life feeling, and thinking that I couldn't do certain things.

Are you like that?

When I was younger and tried something new and it didn't work out, I would think..."I guess I'm no good at that". Well, I've found, as I've gotten a bit older; learning, being good at something, takes time and, yes, training to some degree or another. One great idea for "on the spot training" is to use tutorials. It's amazing how many good ones are out there.

I'm virtually a self starter...always have been. Consequently I have always felt like I had to be an "expert" right from the get-go. Reality check! Very few people are experts at anything...especially "right out of the box". Take your time...the first one or two may not be what you're hoping for...don't give up...keep up until you like what you see.

Below you'll see a great tutorial on the use of Copic Markers to color stamps...she does a wonderful job and it's fun to see how it turns out...I may have to try that! :)

Casting Cares - Challenge 2 from SFTIO

This is my latest scrapbook layout. I created it with a challenge in mind from Scrapbooking From the Inside Out. Our challenge was to scrap a layout with this in mind:

On the Edge: What feels precarious about your future? Does the transient nature of life frighten you, or are you at peace with it? Are there specific areas where you feel that instability more heavily - in your intimate relationships or your work? How do you manage uncertainty or fragility? Are you able to experience life with fluidity, or do you attempt to control the outcome of certain things?

As I began to scrap the page, I realized that along with the many worries and uncertainties I carry, I have learned how to cope with them, with the help of this scripture verse. I wanted to share that as well. Too often, we share our worries and concerns and forget to share how we have managed to cope with them...below you'll find my "goto" verse.

I was asked to review my strengths and weaknesses and to assess what they were. I have so many vulnerabilities...I feel it so often in my life...so I decided to share the "go-to" verse when I need to remember that I am not in control, but I know the One who is. This layout is a reflection of that and a reminder to focus on the "good" things...the blessings...
